Planning Permission

 

Planning permission is not normally required as long as the following criteria are met.


1. The installation should be for the purpose only of the enjoyment of the occupants, family and friends of the dwelling house.
2. The dwelling house is not listed.
3. The proposed installation must be in excess of five metres from the dwelling house.
4. The installation must be less than 4 metres high.
5. The installation must be within the curtilage of the property, i.e. garden area. (Not adjoining field, etc)
6. The log building must be further away from a Public Highway than the house, or 20m from that highway (footpath, bridlepath or public road).
7. It is necessary for the normal permitted development rights to be intact.
8. The installation must not take up more than 50% of the overall curtilage (excluding the dwelling house)
